host HNSC Creator inside SharePoint, eg as Central Admin Custom Action?

Hi Vlad, have you thought of making this tool hosted inside SharePoint? Perhaps as a Central Admin Custom Action?

Usually I advocate for hosting code outside SharePoint and calling in via the API's, but in this case, creating a site collection, it seems more logical to be inside the Central Admin main page.

What do you think?

Hello John,

Yes It's in the plans for future versions! I will try to see what I can do soon!

Thanks for the suggestion!

I was about the send the following:

Great to hear. If you are looking for collaborators I might have a little time to contribute for this enhancement. I am wondering if Microsoft has plans to implement this GUI themselves. If host name SCs are recommended seem that they should. In that case perhaps hold off.

When I happened to see this, Perhaps that is good enough, or at least we (you, Anders Dissing and I) can combine our efforts. Thoughts?

Hello John,

I am really happy to know about this tool HNSC... its really good idea of making this tool. I did not stopped my self to try this... i tried to create HNSC with this tool and it was sucessful as shown below:
------------------STARTING LOG---------------
Starting to Create SiteCollection http://SPApp Creating Content Database wss_content_SPApp Content database wss_content_SPApp sucessfully created Site Collection LCID is 1033 Site Collection Template is STS#0 Team Site ContentDBUsed is wss_Content_SPApp All Parameters added, starting the Create Command SiteCollection sucessfully created!

but when i try to access the url i am getting error with Cisco Logo and Red Mark of Access Denied "Access to this destination is not allowed" where in when i create HNSC through PowerShell i was able to access the url. What would be the issue?
